In light of the recent change to the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, once again many people’s attention is turned to good men that receive a lot of attention for their public, private and sometimes quiet service in the roles of President, Counselor and even Apostle. It is events like this that can cause each person to stop and reflect on the amount of respect and honor that we each individually attribute to both the persons and the titles.
We invite you to read a recent thought provoking blog post that was dedicated to the subject of whether we, individually, believe that God really is a Respector of persons?
Maybe a lot of it is culture or tradition but too often we place so much of our attention, respect and honor on either these persons or titles that it can come at the expense of diminishing our own personal divine potential. The Doctrine of Christ assures us that we should never believe that literally receiving the Savior, Jesus Christ, as a second comforter experience, is an exclusive privilege of a person with the grand title of Apostle, President or the like. Always be believing.
For this very reason the Project Doctrine of Christ Study Guide has been updated with a major section titled, “Who Can & Should ‘Seek to Receive’ Them?“. We invite you to feast on these scriptures and come to believe in your divine potential and for each child of God.
